Did they vote or did the system work as its supposed to? Also I see CBM jumping to conclusions yet again as the article states "potential noncitizens" along with what 3ST said (noncitizens vs illegals). But hey thats his go-to.
From the article..."Some of these potential noncitizen voters may have become citizens after initially getting noncitizen ID numbers, according to the release."
Why are they registering as non-citizens to begin with? The quote you are referring to is that they may have become citizens after they registered. The shouldn't be able to register before they are citizens, period.

Given the anonymous nature of our voting who knows but that's not the point, these people should not be registered to vote period.

Given the anonymous nature of our voting who knows but that's not the point, these people should not be registered to vote period. Nonsense. Election officials can find out if someone voted or not. They can't find how they voted. They should not be registered to vote, but if they had non citizen ID numbers, they weren't "illegal" as CBM stated.

If you don't have to show ID how can you match a voter to a vote cast? You can't The only way to valid that a vote was cast with the voter registration is if the election officials record the registration # is tied to this ballot number.

The register at the polling place. If someone votes there is a paper trail. Obviously, you've never served as an election judge? Can you just walk in off the street and find the information? Probably not. But election officials can.

The problem comes with mail-in ballots. Once an illegal is registered to vote, anyone can mail in the ballot. Many states do minimal if no verification of signature match.

How is there a paper trail if no id is required? I know how my polling place works just fine. You ID and they put the ballot number next to your id number and then the election officials know you got a ballot. But that only works with id being required. As captbudman has above there is even a bigger loop hole.

Just curious, what state are you in? The elections here in Illinois don't have any kind of number associated with the voters name that is placed on the ballot. Just the judge who is handing out the ballots initials.

where I'm at in Mo the voter number is recorded next the ballot number in a book. Sure the government could troll the data and find your ballot to see what you voted for if they really wanted too So in short in Ill you can't prove if someone voted or not, since the data is not record. So your claim that election officials know if someone voted or not is false.

There are no numbers associated with that ballot.

There are no numbers associated with that ballot. How do you know who that voter is without ID with a picture? Again you can't prove I voted, can you infer that someone using my name got a ballot. There are too numbers on ballots to keep track of how many ballots were made and used. When you sign that register, especially electronically, you don't think they associate the two? LOL!!!!! So I'm going to ask you this do you think our elections are fair and secure? Especially given this report? Our discussing started with "have they voted" and there really is no way to 100% confirm. Many will say this is no big deal, then there are people like me that want 0% tolerance for those that should not voting being registered to vote; which I then assume they are doing.
