Last night I decided to participate in a thread in Blues talk about WOW moments in Blues History. I was replying to a link that Brummer had posted. I've been posting there infrequently under another very unclever Airplane related name. When I made my post last night and submitted I got that weird "it needs to be approved by the mods" thing. Oh well, I guess I insulted one of the mods or something so didn't think anything of it.
Fast forward to this morning and I opened the thread and I noticed my reply was under my old Ted Striker name. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. The last time I remember even attempting to log on under that name I got a pop up that said "fuck off." So I just tested again and I was able to log on but was then got the "you need to validate your email." Went to that account, no email to validate. The rest of the message says "or contact sitehelp@stlblahblah" I sent the floater out there. I can't wait to see the reaction.
This is mainly a PSA wondering if others who were purged can attempt to get back?

Yeah, you certainly had your pissing matches over the years, including several with myself, but you were never obnoxious, cursing, over the top like I was in a way that should have gotten you in trouble. I can't think of a reason for you to have been purged over there. Not sure if my reply showed up in that thread. I was at that game. That shot was from another planet. And then they lost in OT. From the moon the the gutter in about 27 minutes of real time. And Moody, yeah, I get your comment. I go to Blues talk and an occasional post about a TV show, movie or food. It's incredibly benign over there now. |

I go there because the Cards and Blues Forums get more action than over here.
The entertainment Forums, too. Although they're slower than they used to be.
Funny that the deadest Forum, Pet Talk, is still there. But you can't even mention anything NFL, even in Battlehawks Talk without it being deleted. Even if you slap an OT on it.

Yeah, Blues and Cards is why I'm there, and I'll visit SoccerTalk while I'm there. SoccerTalk was a vibrant forum a decade ago, before the first purge came. Anyone around that long will remember RSDavis, a libertarian guy who was caught up among the first purges He started the StLTomorrow board for the refugees. It petered out and died, however. I think this place has legs since the Old Country has banned political content. Anyway, one poster began dominating SoccerTalk (and SLUTalk, too, I hear) with inane, short, needlessly argumentative posts and almost killed it. There were days when you could go in and find that the last response to every thread was by the same person. A handful of us decided it was nice to have a St. Louis soccer board so we colluded in not responding to "Nobody" and getting conversations started again. The World Cup helped, St. Louis SC helped, and then when MLS came a knockin' the board was useful again. Since the MLS season ended, however, "Nobody" is back to his old tricks. Hope he fails again, and I sure won't respond to him. |

But it’s still overwhelming. There have been a few times that I thought about starting a thread, but in the end , it just wasnt worth it. I will say you are part of the problem though. For instance, you flag one of my posts, then the very next day I see a trump supporter make an extremely similar post with nothing flagged (favoritism much?). That’s when I realized the cards are stacked against non-trump supporters here…when even the mods show favoritism. Trust me, I am expecting back and forth but like I said, it gets exhausting. |
