A few weeks ago the Cubs were looking at this series on the schedule and licking their chops. Between the tornadoes and the Cards rejuvenated offense, they are glad to get the hell out of here. What a difference a few weeks make, huh ?

I just wanted to toss out that reminder. That reminds me of Jay Leno's old joke -- It's May, and the Cub's season is over...

I just wanted to toss out that reminder. That reminds me of Jay Leno's old joke -- It's May, and the Cub's season is over... I remember someone once saying that if the baseball season ended in June, the Cubs would have as many pennants as the Yankees. Everyone used to attribute the Cubs frequent fading to having to play all their home games in the daytime. I was never convinced. Still, the frequent fading was a key promotion point to the pro-lights side in the 1980s.

Speaking of old jokes…the Cubs always hand out little cardboard schedules at the beginning of the season, and they are extra helpful by putting the words “FOLD HERE” in the middle of June.

I don’t follow baseball anymore.
Can someone tell me how long the Cubs dynasty lasted?
