Following the announcement of a guilty verdict of former President Donald Trump on 34 counts by a Manhattan jury, CNN senior political contributor Scott Jennings warned Democrats of a total bloodbath at the ballot box in November.

Jenning said Trump’s verdict would “massively backfire” on Democrats by galvanizing Republican support, encouraging fundraising, and even converting those who had no intent in voting for Trump.

“Well, if my phone and the text messages I’m receiving are any indication, every Republican in the country is madder than a wet hen,” he said.

For what it's worth, Scott Jennings is a CNN contributor, not a reporter. He's a former Republican Congressional staffer.

I don't know. I'm not yet convinced this is going to be an overall win for Trump. I'm sure it will motivate a lot of people that weren't going to vote otherwise, and it may bring him a few independents, but he'll also lose some people too.

Correct.
It was never a criminal trial.
It was a Biden campaign event staged photo op.
Some photo ops work out - such as Obama building a temple to himself in Chicago.
Some backfire - such as Dukakis riding in a tank.
Too soon to tell which way this one will work out.
I said more than a year ago that Biden would likely win if the REPs nominated Trump.
That has not changed - and the fake courtroom drama has nothing to do with it.
