There's a quote from one of the characters, a lesbian, where she recounts some of the terrible things in her life. When she gets to the part where the fascist govt takes her partner and then comes for her to execute them, she says "Why do they hate us so much?" That's a great question. Do any of you have answers to it? Why do you hate LGBT people? What makes you burn pride flags and try to outlaw them? They don't "make " you gay. I read a quote from a gay person a while back, "I've read straight books, watched straight movies etc my whole life and not once did it ever make me straight." Is it just that you all are weak in your conviction to be straight that you can't stand to even see a gay person? Is it a religious thing, because there are many parts of the bible we don't and can't follow now. Like stoning your wife if you think she's unfaithful and stoning your kid if they are disrespectful. So religion is no excuse. Just what makes the hatred so intense. I saw a video from Pakistan yesterday where they publicly whipped a guy for being gay. 100 whacks to the back and it was done in the public square with a crowd watching. It was shameful. Is that the kind of country you all want? Public beatings and executions? How terrible to lower our standards for empathy and sympathy. I've always felt that evil is lack of empathy. Total evil is total lack of empathy. Selfishness. A person is born, they exist in their own body, then someone tells them what they can do with their body and their life. That's not freedom.
