Tonight our starting Designated Hitter was batting .194, and was replaced with a guy hitting .115. Yeah, I'd rather see the pitcher hit.

I've never been a fan of the DH, the worst change in the history of the game. If you're in the line up you have to bat.

Attendance statistics showed the NL outdrew the AL because the game was substantially better.
Low and behold, fundamentals have been thrown out the door because the FUCKING NERDS wack it to spreadsheets.
Instead of maintaining the integrity of the game, let’s flood the grand old game with ghost runners in extra innings, auto-intentional walks, pick-off limitations, removal of shifts, the DH, and of course loaded balls.
Oh, you don’t like seeing fly-outs? Well, let’s make the bases bigger, because that will encourage athleticism!
Starter didn’t get the win? It’s ok, he came 1/3 of an inning from a Quality Start!

Good post. Even better when read while imagining the character in your sig pic saying them! If you look at the rationale behind implementation of the DH, it was clearly a failure. It was supposed to increase runs scored and attendance. It only added a single run every other game and the NL outpaced the AL for attendance. They should have gotten rid of it by the 80s.
