www.nytimes.com/2024/06/06/arts/music/tours-jlo-black-keys.htmlI believe I have said this before, but I attend a lot fewer concerts these days. Most of the dinosaurs I grew up with have either stopped performing or they should have, looking at you Journey. Not only are we seeing acts that are not at their prime, ticket prices are often way up there. Some bands like the Eagles may still be able to make it work, but I am only willing to pay so much to see Heat, which now apparently is $25 plus fees. This has been coming for a long time and will only get worse. Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are only going to appeal to their limited audience, and while they are big draws in their relative niches, they are not crossing over the rest of us.

“Swift's The Eras Tour generated approximately $900 million in ticket sales in 2023. “ - Billboard Magazine.
Pretty big relative niche, for a “limited audience”.
