What if she had endorsed 'White Pride' - would that be cool ? By CBM's reasoning, that could hardly be considered disrespectful to, say, non-whites, but merely celebrating 500 years of European/Caucasian dominance in the world at large. Who could object to or be offended by that ? How about Black Lives Matter? You are promoting a double standard. Is it now an afront if I am proud to be white? You see, the double standard reeks in our society.

Public figures publicly spouting bigotry run the risk of censure. What does 'straight pride' mean, other than side eye at gays. It is a hostile stance. Its a free country. Also for employers, especially those with high visibility in the public. All this focus on gay issues, etc., is tiring to me. But those wading in risk return fire. You have the right to offend, and the right for the offended, or those with a constituency among the offended (everyone, basically, lacking a hard-on against gay rights), to knock you off your perch. It isn't bigotry.

Speaking of the Atlantic slave trade, on March 2, 1807, President Jefferson signed the Act Prohibing the Import of Slaves, making the United States of America the first nation in the world to do so. God bless America.

Why should white pride be bad?

I did answer you, Stable, although it does seem like a peculiar scenario for a black woman to be endorsing "White pride." What is wrong with a White man or woman being proud of who they are, proud of the nation their forefather's created, or proud of all of the accomplishments that people of White European ancestry have brought to the world? Why is it okay in your view that Blacks can be proud of being black, Hispanics can be proud of being Hispanic, Asians can be proud of being Asian, the Alphabet Mafia can have an entire month to be proud of whatever letter they've claimed, but Whites can't be proud of themselves? There's a difference between being proud of who you are, proud of your ancestors contributions to society, and believing that the immutable pigmentation in your skin somehow makes you superior to other races. The latter is, of course, blatant racism.

No one with a brain takes you seriously on this.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he were correct but the question is exactly WHO thinks "White Pride" is racist? The same folks who think "Black Pride" or "Yellow Pride" is racist? Actually my question is why can't people have their own opinions without others getting their panties in a twist?

No one with a brain takes you seriously on this. There's a clear distinction between racial pride and racism. - Racial pride celebrates your heritage, culture, and accomplishments associated with your race. It's about appreciating your background and the positive aspects of your racial identity. "Black Pride" and "White Pride" are both examples of this.
- Racism involves superiority beliefs. It assumes that one race is inherently better than another and justifies discrimination or prejudice based on race.

We have Black History Month, Asia American History Month, is it racist to demand a White History Month? You see, this double standard is really racism.

Were you or your grandparents ever shunted to the back of the bus, or restricted from hotels/restaurants/drinking facilites/toilets ? Was you pride ever assailed for being a minority ?
With gays, it was being the subject of criminal convictions, ridicule, blackmail, disgrace from time immemorial.
Man, you folks are dense. Willfully so.
White straight people HAVE NEVER BEEN SYSTEMATICALLY HUMILIATED. Jesus. Is that so hard to get your heads around ?
