I am trying to get into them, but it’s a bit of a struggle. But I have to because I’m seeing Steve Vai and Danny Carey (and former members Adrian Belew & Tony Levin) perform their music in December at the Factory. I can’t pass up a chance to see Danny live. beat-tour.com

Not a big fan, but listened to them a lot in high school while getting high. Saw Adrian Belew awhile back at the Old Rock House because my wife wanted to go. It wasn't quite what I expected from a King Crimson member. They are kind of like Yes for me, don't know if I would go out of my way to see them.

I have 2 of their albums, KOTCK and Red, haven't listened to either in years. I'm not a huge fan of prog unless it has some psyche/experimental elements. What do you think is their best album? I'd be willing to give it a listen.

I like them a lot. There are three distinct eras. The first is the most prog and classically influenced. In the Wake of Poseidon is probably my favorite album from this period.
The second was heavier and more rock. John Wetton was singing and playing bass. I like all three albums from this period, but Starless and Bible Black may be my top pick.
The last incarnation had more new wave and world music involved. You'll be seeing this music. Both Discipline and 3 of a Petfect Pair are great.
It should be a great show. Enjoy!

I’m a John Wetton era fan. that period was their best in my opinion.
