There are some things here that I could really get behind. not a fan of smoking on planes, but I'd trade it for Red Lobster! see, thats whats wrong with Conservatives, you get 5 for $5 and it STILL aint good enough. |

Out of curiosity I read sections of Project 25 to find out what all controversy was about. My impression, it is a list of recommendations on how to skinny down the Fed Govt beauracracy. Only statists would find that idea objectionable.

Only statists would find that idea objectionable. Project 2025 was put together by the Heritage Foundation. They've done similar "white paper" studies in the past. The controversy was two fold: First, the entire project had nothing to do with Trump or the Trump campaign. Yet, they tried to imply that their ideas were going to be implemented in Trump's upcoming term and that they were interviewing/screening new hires for the Trump administration. This angered President Trump, as he viewed the project as trying to capitalize off of his name and campaign. While he agreed with some of the ideas (like securing the border), he said others were absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Second, leftist clung onto certain aspects and used their usual fear mongering routine, labeling it "Christian nationalism," a danger to civil liberties, and a threat to the rule of law. Ask Emmy (or search his writings), as he melted down over it a few months ago. In the end, there were some good ideas, but the project is dead. Now the leftist are focusing on JD Vance being "weird..." |
