As of July 31st 2024, the Sox have a .248 winning percentage. One of the worst in modern baseball history. They aren’t likely to improve short-term, as they have traded most of their remaining ML talent. Look at their lineup, one of the worst ever. At 338 runs they have scored 50 fewer than any other team in MLB. They have given up 560, with only the rarified air of Colorado’s staff giving up more runs. So, 30th in runs scored, and 29th in runs against. -222.
Right now they are on pace to equal The expansion 1962 New York Mets. The lovable losers. Go Sox!

That reminds me of Harry Potter (Lunhow) after he left the Cardinals (stealing their computer system to analyze players) and sank the team for a couple of years.

Maybe it's time for Chicago to go down to 1 team.

It's now down to .237, a pace for a 38-124 record.

They’ve become the talk of Chicago and must watch TV because people literally want to know if they can win, again.

As of August 30th the white sox have a .228 winning percentage, 31-105. They would need to “rally” with a 9-17 record to tie the 1962 expansion NY Mets for the worst record in a 162 ballgame season.
.228 would mean a finish of 37-125 if they play all 162. They have the record within their grasp!

Update heading into the final week.
The historically awful ChiSox are sitting at 36-120. The 1962 Mets were 40-122. So, the Sox will need go 5-1 to avoid tying the worst record ever. They have a great shot to set the record. It is highly probable that a team with a .231 winning percent will have a winning record in the final week. So, 38-124? 37-125?
Just a really bad, bad team. Everyone should be fired.

The ChiSox are on a 3 game streak and threaten to exceed the 1962 Mets now. They are 39-120. If they win 2/3 final games they will avoid tying for the worst record ever.

The White Sox came on strong and finished at 41-121. One game shy of the tying for the worst 162 game record in MLB history.
