Elon estimated that he could see $2 trillion cut from our spending. That would be be about right and a good start to fixing this mess. He’s wrong. Unless you want to start cutting military and entitlements. Will never happen. Cut the military in half. That’s $500 billion right there. Slash foreign aid by a similar percentage, that’s another few hundred billion. Get rid of thousands of useless government jobs. It would have to help and we have to try.

Just wait until this recession / depression sets in and tax receipts plummet. You’ll see 3+ trillion deficits quickly. Also, we’ll never cut military because of the current state of the world. More likely it increases

Once the 36T debt gets completely rolled over into the higher rates, the debt payment will exceed 1.5T. That’s almost 1/3 of all the US tax receipts. Now add in social security, Medicaid, Medicare, the military and all this mandatory spending puts the US in a 2T deficit before the lights are even turned on.

and nothing will change. It’s just reality. We have to try. I don't see enough political will to try. They're going to wait for a crisis to occur. At that time just hope and pray the socialists aren't in charge.

Obama held the debt record. Trump added 8T in his 4 years. Biden will have added nearly 10T in his 4 years. One thing I will guarantee….Trump will add more than 10T in his 4 years.

Who knows, but we’ll see if it continues the next couple months. Elon will find it. Best I can tell, they are attributing the spike to a "calendar effect." This tells me there was some creative accounting to push out some bad news until after most people have voted. According to the federal balance sheets the government ran a surplus in September. Does anyone believe that?
