An interesting study. But I did notice one flaw in the author's argument. It infers that the ocean has been releasing more CO2 into the atmosphere over the past 65 years. However we know that is not the case since the oceans have continued to become more acidic during that time (CO2 increases water acidity) and therefore its net absorption rate has been higher since 1959 than its emission rate. Has this study been peer-reviewed? I didnt see one way or another.

Maybe you all can explain something to me in my high school physics class in 1984, my physics teachers taught us about the greenhouse effect. Basically greenhouse gases especially CO2 would increase due to manmade pollution and be trapped in the earth’s atmosphere and hold heat in. So what has happened since 1984, CO2 has increased steadily from 344 PPM to 421 PPM today. Temperatures have also steadily increased the hottest year on record was 2023 and the top 10 years on record occurred in the last 10 years. So you all are telling me that this is just a coincidence? Maybe you all can explain something to me in my high school physics class in 1984, my physics teachers taught us about the greenhouse effect. in the past 40 years, our knowledge of things has grown. Stop living in the past, we aint going back. Temperatures have also steadily increased the hottest year on record was 2023 and the top 10 years on record occurred in the last 10 years. easily attributed to location of monitoring stations. They used to be out in the open, away from concrete, building, things that effect their readings, now they are in the middle of black top parking lots, under building exhaust vents, next to huge AC units. and current technology has improved temperature measurements. Hell, 40 years ago, you had a man walk outside to said monitoring station and visibly look at the thermometer, and not a fancy digital one. Those old thermometers would were accurate to 2 degrees. And that the theory presented to me in 1984 and statistically confirmed over the last 40 years is a hoax? Not a hoax; just wrong. Thats science; it can be wrong. When I was younger we actually could count on snow every year. A lot of it. Now we're lucky if we get a dusting. Polar ice is melting at a ridiculous rate that correlates with the growing greenhouse gasses. Your ignorance is helping destroy the world. Look up the hole in the ozone layer that countries got together and fixed. Climate deniers, anti-vaxxers, election deniers. While some monitoring stations have changed location over the past 100+ years, global temperatures are measured using a multitude of tools, including weather stations, weather balloons, ships, satellites, and buoys. There are over 100,000 measurements across the world that are used n the calculation. One station running 2 degrees hotter isnt going to make a difference. Also, those monitoring stations are not randomly placed (ie under an "exhaust fan"). smh |
