I think its cute they got MIZZOU as fifth highest ranked SEC team. Last year, the ended up ranked as the 4th highest SEC team (if you include Texas), one point above Ole Miss. The media hates to give Mizzou any respect. IIRC, last year Mizzou started off ranked as third from the bottom in the SEC, ahead of only perennial loser Vanderbilt and Miss State. I'm happy that they've managed to earn an early high ranking, despite not having played a "competitive" team. They play Buffalo this weekend, and then I suspect will face a test against Boston College. Of course, it won't be until SEC conference play starts that we begin to separate the boys from the men in the SEC.

Rankings after 2nd week of play. Notre Dame got spanked! I'm worried about Mizzou's high rating going into the Boston College game. Mizzou has only played "pre-season" games, so they haven't been tested. Boston College is #24 but is a 16 1/2 point underdog. When the played against Florida State, they were a 17 point underdog.

Ohio State played a "preseason game." Georgia and 'Bama had a bye week while waiting for this weekend's big game. Mizzou dropped out of Top 10 after O/T victory.

More big moves. Georgia dropped after losing to 'Bama, while Ole Miss really dropped after their loss. Utah also dropped to #18 after Arizona soundly upset them. Mizzou is up to #9 as they go to College Station for their toughest game this year.

More great football games, this time with several teams winning in O/T. Arizona State upset #16 Utah while LSU defeated Ole Miss in O/T. Penn State survived against USC, 'Bama beat SC by 2 points, and Tenn beat Florida in O/T. Mizzou moved up to #19 AP, one point behind Ole Miss and #16 Coaches, again one point behind Ole Miss.
