It's still going to have an impact, as whichever team loses is under pressure to run the tables the rest of the season or risk not being in the championship bowl games. Likewise, LSU's loss to USC to open the season is likely going to have an impact on their playoff chances, too. Florida State is definitely finished.

They were Top 10 when they flew to Ireland. It will be interesting to see which SEC/Big 10 team will make the playoffs with 2 losses, especially since the "lesser" of the Power 5 conferences are going to be guaranteed a playoff birth (I don't recall the number of slots reserved per conference, but I suspect it will be a subject of discussion come November.

SEC is putting at least 3 in, Big 20 will probably get 3, Big 12 Champ, ACC Champ, ND and 1 At large, leaves 2 slots.

Maybe B12 gets a second team in?

And there's the problem -- the SEC is the toughest conference in college football now. Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss will all likely be in competition as no loss or 1 loss ('Bama is the big question since Saban retired), with LSU and Mizzou likely to be 1 or 2 loss teams.

Three more upsets. Bret Bielema, formerly of Wisconsin and Arkansas before being fired, coached the Fighting Illini into an upset of #19 Kansas ~~Chicken Hawks~~ Jayhawks 34-27.

Also, unraked Iowa State defeated #21 Iowa 20-19. Finally, unraked Syracuse knocked off #23 Georgia Tech 31-28. Recall, Ga Tech upset Florida State 24-21 in Dublin to start the season.
