I’m not really a fan of that new song.
After listening to that and being disappointed, I went back through some of the old Linkin Park catalog. It really is great stuff.
Also they put on one of the best live shows. Chester was the man. He sounded just as good as the albums and added in a whole bunch of extra screams throughout the songs. I was lucky enough to see them at Mississippi Nights opening for POD, and at an Ozzfest at Riverport.

I just always thought I’d have time later to go to a concert in an arena. I don’t mind this… my rationale may sound weird, but if they did the songs as a “tribute to LP” and future songs like the one above as “Linking Park in Collaboration with…” I’d probably be fine with it. They did tons of collaborations back in the day (Ex: Jay-Z), so why not just badge it that way. I don’t believe there’s any replacing Bennington. Too unique of a voice and the band and fans were growing with a mature vision than how it started. However, there is a distinct sound to LP that can still be heard in the ‘Emptiness Machine.’ It’s still there.
