Honestly, I couldn’t tell. I’m one of those who wants someone to maintain possession for more than just a blink and touch of the ground. So, I’m inclined to say they got the call right. Check out the videos, what’s your thought?

No. 7 Miami overcame three turnovers and a potential game-winning touchdown on the final play of the game to cap a wild 38-34 comeback win over Virginia Tech after trailing by 10 points in the fourth quarter.

The Hokies appeared to win the game when quarterback Kyron Drones heaved a pass into a crowd of players in the end zone as time was expiring. The play was ruled a TD on the field as Da'Quan Felton appeared to have come down with it, but it was overturned after a lengthy replay review.

after watching numerous replays on a tv, I find myself agreeing with this columnist

All that being said, Virginia Tech got screwed. Sorry, but they did.

Should that final play have been ruled a touchdown initially? Probably not. Seemed a little silly to me in real-time.

But it was. Right or wrong (wrong), it was. And after it was, it should have never been overturned. Because there was just no way anyone back at the ACC command center saw a definitive angle that made it easy to overturn.

And I think – by the letter of the law – that means it should've stood. Inconclusive is the buzz word I believe all the leagues use.

That was inconclusive. Wrong to begin with, but inconclusive nonetheless.

I watched it multiple times, too. There was no clear evidence one way or the other to overturn the ruling on the field.

Of course, a conspiracy theorist would say the ruling went the way it did because Miami is ranked #7 and money talks. Of course, that would never, ever happen in the NCAA, would it? 😎
