Burnsville, NC — A helicopter allegedly destroyed Hurricane Helene recovery supplies at a local distribution site in Burnsville on Sunday evening. According to reports from local volunteers, the helicopter arrived shortly after two unmarked black SUVs were seen circling the area.
A volunteer who identified themselves as a veteran conducting security at the site shared details on social media, stating that the incident occurred at approximately 7:18 p.m. The volunteer described the helicopter as unmarked and claimed it caused damage to the distribution area set up by locals.
“This was not one of our helicopters,” the volunteer said, adding that the appearance of the helicopter followed a suspicious “slow roll” of two unmarked black SUVs and a side-by-side vehicle near the entrance of the site.
