Can a Darwin Award go to a whole group of people? St. Louis Reparations Commission releases final report with recommendationsThe full list is HEREFollow-up questions for the committee… Will the apology require the use of an Ouija Board? Will residents with “documented proof” need to provide the final resting place of their relatives so the prerequisite apology could be administered via seances? Will these “scholarships and educational grants for descendants of enslaved people and Black students from historically-underserved areas” be new, or will they simply be funneled to the plethora of existing scholarships and grants that have existed for decades? Finally, how much money was wasted on this copy/paste commission?

The first 10 pages are basically patting themselves on the back (4 pages of acknowledgements), images that take a full-page (3), a Table of Contents, and one open letter of patting themselves on the back for taking 18 months to come up with this document.
Skipping to Page 10…
The “cultural erasure” part was particularly humorous as I think back to all the schools who had to drop mascots references to the indigenous peoples who might find the imagery and use offensive for academic and competitive collaborations from the region representing them.

How are the current living situations unsafe? Do they boarder countries hostile to Americans? I wish they’d expand why these communities have such unsafe housing.
Also, it’s a real shame that Imminent Domain has only impacted the black community. I cannot fathom how these communities formed in straight lines between St Louis and Kansas City, St Louis and Springfield, MO, and St Louis and Cape Girardeau, nor around the Airport when it needed room for expansion, nor even around the Riverfront when it was planned to remove several city blocks for the National Park surrounding the Arch!
Such heinous acts of brutality and focused hatred.

Society as whole to pay from a fraction of its poor behavior.
What a nothing burger word salad that amounts to “slavery is bad. Some slave holders were psychotic assholes, some were lesser assholes. Owning people is bad.” They proceed to provide specific examples…
Does it suck? Absolutely! Should their descendants sue the estate? Go for it. Should new Law Grad from Mizzou, or Engineer from Rolla, or Accountant from UMSL, or Teacher from Truman, or Doctor from WashU or Nurse from SLU who recently moved to St Louis pay for General Harney’s brutality? Fuck no. Thats stupid.
I can only imagine the irony of one of those college grads being black. When my future wife was graduating from SLU, I couldn’t help but notice how 90% of the Social Justice majors came from a black background. My first thought was “what a waste of a degree,” considering how expensive SLU is and how little income a Social Work degree would generate. Now, I can only think how stupid it would be to pull more money out of their paycheck for the purpose of paying someone else’s ancestral plight.

This is interesting… “White Conservatism” is a negative development of slavery? Wow… That was an interesting development. I’ll stop there for now. I suggest checking the pdf linked both here and in the first post of this thread.

If these people think that racism is a problem now, just wait until they hand out reparations.

Anyone who doesn't know this is nothing more than a money grab is an idiot.
