I have posted in the past about having trouble with Spectrum about taking away MLB Channel and the Golf Channel, giving me viewing options that I don't want, and the high prices.
I feel like I made a major win in this battle. I took back my 3 receiving boxes. We are older and I am not the best tech guy around. The daughter convinced us to get a ROKU and investigate options like HULU and FUBO TV. When I turned in my 3 boxes, the guy, a very hard worker, told me to call Specturm again and regardless of where I am sent on that call continue to demand to talk to retention until I actually get to the retention people. It did take a little effort but I was able to talk to a real person in retention and not sales.
When that person reviewed my account, they saw that I had turned in my 3 boxes. I told them that I was leaving, going to FUBO TV and HULU in a package and ... To my great surprise, my cost dropped over $70/month AND I got the sports package to boot. (I am under $200/month now.) Dang, the sports package is pretty good for what I watch. It is not great but then again, I got it included. Two days later, I received an email about receiveing Disney+ and Paramount+ for free.
I finally feel like I won one against the big guys. BTW, we also have a landline in that price if some are wondering why I am happy with $200. Take away the land line and we would be at the price of FUBO and HULU. My wife, who is anti Spectrum, argued that this price would only be for one year. I was not told that and so I expect for this to be our normal price. Also, when/if the price goes up, we still have the other options. Finally, I can't believe how clear our picture is with the ROKU device and it is so easy to use.

Is that price permanent or just a "special" for 6-12 months?

I wish I had know earlier that we could get rid of those boxes and save the roughly $45 we were spending every month for them. I am under the impression that this is our new rate. I was not told that there was any limit to the lenght of this new amount. If it changes, we will make changes. BTW, we keep hearing that the landline will go out of use sometime next year.

Do you have to have a computer connected to every TV via HDMI port, or are you relying on a "Smart TV" or other device like Fire Stick, Roku box, etc? Also, do you still have DVR capabilities? My mother has been complaining about her high Spectrum bill, so I've been trying to get her to do Internet streaming like you. The catch is that she wants a DVR to record movies that Spectrum shows (like Turner Classic Movies) to watch later.

The catch is that she wants a DVR to record movies that Spectrum shows (like Turner Classic Movies) to watch later. We have Smart TVs and are using a ROKU Box. We purchased the more expensive ROKU box that also has voice commands. I haven't figured out how to use the voice commands since when I have tried, I get a lot of results that I am not looking for. You can still find the on demand option that comes with Spectrum BUT at this moment, I believe that she can get Paramount+ and Disney+ so there are all of the movies she could possibly ever want. I do not have a DVR hooked up. BTW, my wife corrected me. In our area with taxes, we are paying @207.63 per month and not $200. LOL BTW, getting comfortable using the remote might pose a problem at first if using a ROKU. When we turn the TV on, we get the screen that has all of the options. We go to the spectrum choice but when it switches to spectrum, we get a message that says "Continue with Viewing." No matter what we do, we have to go back to the beginning (Home) and pick Spectrum again. Then, we get the programming. We have the option to pick favorites, sports, ... from the guide. We created a favorites folder.
