Honestly, I am pro-life, and the issue probably doesn’t matter … but because of that, it pissed me off just a little bit more. I hate it when political canvassers come randomly bother you and knock on your door.
The lady rings my doorbell, dog is barking. I don’t come to the door because I don’t wanna talk to anybody at the moment. I wasn’t expecting anyone. She proceeds to stand there for over a minute. if I haven’t come to the door by then, please leave. My TV is right by the door. so she heard it on and maybe that’s why she didn’t leave? Dog is still barking. I just want to watch football.
So finally, since she wouldn’t leave, I talked to her through my ring doorbell. She starts explaining that she’s from this abortion group and wants to talk to me about the election. I tell her, no, I don’t have time for that. And then she seemed to get offended when I said “no thank you’ to her wanting to leave a door hanger on my front door.
I guess if you wanna take the time on a Saturday to go bother random people, go for it. But if they don’t answer the door within 15 seconds, leave. it’s fucking irritating.
And in the end, my thing is this … I know where to find information about all the issues. I can do my own research and from my own opinions. I don’t need anyone to talk to me about any of this, especially randomly showing up at my house.

Ballwin. And I’ve had a few over the past several cycles. But normally, they leave if you don’t answer right away. Which is fine. This one … I wonder when she would have gone away. I've been pro-choice my entire life. However, seeing these campaign commercials every 30 seconds accusing conservative politicians of being woman hating extremists is legitimately making me question my position. These people don't realize that normal people don't really give a rats ass about abortion rights compared to other concerns.
With regard to soliciting, I have noticed a massive increase in door to door solicitation in my neighborhood over the past year or so. Just leave people alone. It's extremely obnoxious.

WRT soliciting, we have signs up. In fact, we have had a solar company salesperson ignore it multiple times. I don't think he will do that again. WRT abortion, it is murder of the unborn. Per my Faith, I believe that those who support it and those who do it will have to account for it on their day of reckoning. How will a person standing in judgement explain that they murdered an innocent baby? BTW, I don't think that these word games like calling that baby a fetus instead of a baby will fly on that day. |
