I don't believe in God so that day won't ever come. Thank 'god' for another free from the chains of mythical cannibal cult belief systems and terrible agents that pull their strings. I cannot imagine living under such mental slavery. Everyone is entitled to believe what he wants to believe. I don't begrudge anybody who believes in a higher power. It just doesn't make sense to me, personally.

I've been pro-choice my entire life. However, seeing these campaign commercials every 30 seconds accusing conservative politicians of being woman hating extremists is legitimately making me question my position. These people don't realize that normal people don't really give a rats ass about abortion rights compared to other concerns. With regard to soliciting, I have noticed a massive increase in door to door solicitation in my neighborhood over the past year or so. Just leave people alone. It's extremely obnoxious. The DEM party is no longer pro-choice. It has gone from "abortion should be rare but safe" to rabidly endorsing "killing babies at any time for any reason for the entire 9 months of pregnancy" - including months past viability.

WRT soliciting, we have signs up. In fact, we have had a solar company salesperson ignore it multiple times. I don't think he will do that again. WRT abortion, it is murder of the unborn. Per my Faith, I believe that those who support it and those who do it will have to account for it on their day of reckoning. How will a person standing in judgement explain that they murdered an innocent baby? BTW, I don't think that these word games like calling that baby a fetus instead of a baby will fly on that day. God, in his apparent infinite wisdom, gave humanity the ability to choose sin or not. Therefore, I question why you think you have any authority to take away that ability to choose sin or not from others when God himself didn't even go that far!

Honestly, I am pro-life, and the issue probably doesn’t matter … but because of that, it pissed me off just a little bit more. I hate it when political canvassers come randomly bother you and knock on your door. The lady rings my doorbell, dog is barking. I don’t come to the door because I don’t wanna talk to anybody at the moment. I wasn’t expecting anyone. She proceeds to stand there for over a minute. if I haven’t come to the door by then, please leave. My TV is right by the door. so she heard it on and maybe that’s why she didn’t leave? Dog is still barking. I just want to watch football. So finally, since she wouldn’t leave, I talked to her through my ring doorbell. She starts explaining that she’s from this abortion group and wants to talk to me about the election. I tell her, no, I don’t have time for that. And then she seemed to get offended when I said “no thank you’ to her wanting to leave a door hanger on my front door. I guess if you wanna take the time on a Saturday to go bother random people, go for it. But if they don’t answer the door within 15 seconds, leave. it’s fucking irritating. And in the end, my thing is this … I know where to find information about all the issues. I can do my own research and from my own opinions. I don’t need anyone to talk to me about any of this, especially randomly showing up at my house. I see you are rude at home like you are here. No surprise. When you start paying for his home, you can try and tell him how to act. Until then, STFU!

It has gone from "abortion should be rare but safe" to rabidly endorsing "killing babies at any time for any reason for the entire 9 months of pregnancy" - including months past viability. That's f'ed up. Yes, it is. Though I disagreed with it on a moral level, at least the "pro-choice" position could be presented by proponents who did not come across as crazy. No longer. Now, the DEMS are radically and rabidly pro-abortion at all times and circumstances. "Safe and rare" is now "anytime, anyone, anywhere".

I hate school fundraisers. It’s that time of year where they’re going to dish out the sheets and have people go door-to-door hauking overpriced frozen pizza. It’s embarrassing, annoying, reeks of corruption, and I’d rather just write a check for the difference than have $30-40/per frozen pizza.
To make matters worse, the houses around us are all kids that go to the school, so you’re basically left with pressing friends, family, and co-workers into throwing money at you for overpriced crap. So, not only am I suddenly volunteering to do this, having to buy a number of these, AND then coordinating who paid what and what they got, but then they go and give prizes for the “kids” who sold the most.
In other words, if I just dropped $200 on 5 shitty frozen pizzas, I now get to deal with my kid feeling disappointed because other kids got some shitty fucking toy because their stay-at-home parent had a project to focus on.
What does that bitch fest have to do with this topic? Well, let’s just say I’ve got that sheet of paper & a pen near my door just for the occasion someone walks up and wants to knock on my door and sell me something… be it pest control, lawn care, Girl Scout cookies, religion, or political views

First World Problems. Answer the door, tell them your Pro Life and have them move on. I love it when political canvassers come to my door. Really nice college kid came to my door canvassing for my Democrat state rep candidate. I talked to him for awhile but wanted him to move on so he could cover as many homes as possible. If they are Republican, I try to have a friendly debate them and keep them as long as possible. They have always been nice. In fact, one ended up winning our state representative as a Republican. I thought he was fairly moderate and a pretty good guy, he tried for a higher office but he clearly was not radical enough for Missouri Republicans. I admire anyone that will do canvass, I never done it because I don’t want to deal with the assholes you run into. Anyone, who wants to canvass on either side for amendment 3 is very brave.

They shouldn't. Has anyone actually reviewed the annual budgets of public school districts? I have. In low tax states, a public school district will spend around 20K per student. In high tax states dominated by large urban centers, it is closer to 30K. What does that look like in actual expenditures? A district of 25,000 students in a low tax state will spend a lit more than half a billion dollars every year. A district of 25,000 students in a high tax state will spend 750-900 million dollars every year. There is zero reason for districts to pimp students as propaganda pieces to raise even more funds. Folks who support public school fundraisers are being played as dupes. Now, returning to the topic of political activists and canvassers. The practice no longer has anything to do with education, persuasion, or turnout. Data science has long replaced that. Canvassing now serves just 1 purpose. Executing voter fraud via various means - the primary of which is illegal and unconstitutional ballot harvesting.

Back when my kids were in school, I told the teachers/coaches we would NOT be hawking products door-to-door - PERIOD. Instead, I just wrote a check and the school ended up with more money than they would have otherwise and I spent less time and money without the headaches of pestering friends and family. A win-win for everyone except the fundraising companies.

With the dollars collected by the public schools, we could pay teachers $100k per year, but then we wouldn't be able to hire six vice-principals, have multi-million dollar astroturf football fields and still afford the ridiculous DEI support staff that most schools waste a fortune on. The biggest irony is that the most financially disadvantaged districts aren't in the inner cities - they're in rural areas. The inner city schools get and waste on average MORE than the surrounding suburban school districts, but they're always the first to scream 'RACISM!' when you suggest they have enough to do the job.

Yeah, they can be irritating. First, know that political canvassing is not classified as soliciting so the signs give you no protection.
I have been a part of many door-to-door campaigns. When I have done this, the goal is purely get-out-the-vote, not to convince. Persuade those who are likely to vote R to get to the polls, that's the goal, and the statistics show it to be an effective method. If someone on the list wasn't the solid-R they were supposed to be then I politely thanked them for their time, handed them the door hanger and went on to the next one.
