Good for him. He knows how to read the room and when to change course. And, no, I am not being facetious.

This has to be part of what Matt Taibbi was talking about in the thread I started earlier. Taibbi has been a trailblazer on this topic: munkdebates.com/debates/mainstream-media/A thermonuclear bomb dropped in the epicenter of the legacy media.

most of the writers for the St. Louis post dispatch are old.
They need to be be let go and let younger writers come in. The Post Dispatch like all major papers are writing the same old tired ideology everyday.
No real fact finding scoop etc. Lots of stuff about the St. Louis city and the failings. Why not write about all the good stuff happening in the surrounding areas.
The City is dying. Rams left. Now the Cards are feeling it.

Yes, he did day "Our profession is now the least trusted of all. Something we are doing is clearly not working." Of course, in the same piece, Bezos also said: "I assure you that my views here are, in fact, principled, and I believe my track record as owner of The Post since 2013 backs this up." And... "Many of the finest journalists you’ll find anywhere work at The Washington Post, and they work painstakingly every day to get to the truth. They deserve to be believed." The first statement is true. The other true are demonstrably false. We shall see what the future holds - but at the moment, his 'admission" appears to be nothing more than a business decision to protect his asset, with little credibility or sincerity involved.
