Nate Silver took the ultimate chicken shit position for a pollster and is predicting a tie in the Electoral College.
I know the answer, just wondering how many others know.

I did not know what happened and just looked it up. Theoretically you could end up with a republican president and democratic vice president or vice versa.

This has happened before. Rutherford B. Hayes was selected by a "Committee of Fifteen." Note the odd number. The question then was which party would be represented by that fifteenth vote. The argument went back and forth until a compromise was made. That fifteenth member of the committee would be Republican and the tradeoff was that Reconstruction would be eliminated in the South.

www.270towin.com/content/electoral-college-tiesSo, I think this advantages the Republican for President who likely has more state delegations in majority. CA and NY are only two votes. Kamala could be elected VP, and she could cast the deciding vote. Wouldn’t that be weird?

Wouldn’t that be weird? there is almost 0 (zero, zip, nada) chance dems keep a majority in the senate, wwhy the fuck would the Senate with an R majority elect a dem, especially Sidepiece, as VP?

Nate Silver took the ultimate chicken shit position for a pollster and is predicting a tie in the Electoral College. I know the answer, just wondering how many others know. The REPs will control more state delegations than the DEMs in the House and would install Trump. The REPs will hold more Senate seats than the DEMs and would install Vance. Zero chance of any other outcome. Interesting but academic question. Virtually impossible to get to a 269-269 electoral college outcome.

The real odd thing is that we could see 3 Presidents in 2025. Biden of course is President until Inauguration Day. If the Electoral College is a 269-269 tie, then the House decides the President via voting that declares a certain winner. Currently, the GOP has a clear majority of States that would virtually assure Trump would be selected the 47th President. However, if for some reason, the House cannot come up with a clear winner by Inauguration Day, the Vice-President becomes the new president and remains so until the House eventually declares the winner of the 2024 election thru their (50 states 1 vote per state) election. Should they eventually come to the decision that Trump is voted into office, he would become the 3rd president in probably a matter of 1-2 days as Biden leaves, Harris becomes temporary President, then she leaves as Trump takes over.
