After Trump's emphatic victory, MICHAEL WOLFF says the Democrats may never recoverLast month, when I interviewed billionaire mogul and major Democratic donor Barry Diller, he told me that – even more than a Kamala Harris victory – he wished for a decisive victory, by one side or the other, to break the great American logjam. In the end, he got his wish. On Tuesday night, America repudiated the liberal plan, temperament and future. There isn't any ambiguity here. The wavering districts of the country, where hearts and minds might have seemed unsure, broke for Donald Trump and the Republicans in a big way. It turned out to be quite an early night. The choice was emphatic and binary: America chose the opposite of every Left-wing notion of what is good and right and decent. The idea that American women would carry the day, and protect the fundamental rights over their bodies, failed. The idea that the Democratic Party best represented the nation's minorities crumbled. The idea that we are a country of unimpeachable laws, in which the justice system has the last and final judgement, was swept aside: a convicted criminal won. The idea that Donald Trump was an outlier, however persistent, was smashed to smithereens. In the end, it meant nothing that the Establishment had lined up powerfully for the Democrats. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14049349/trump-win-presidential-election-liberal-america-MICHAEL-WOLFF.html

The first action he should take is to repudiate ALL of Biden's executive orders that screwed up the border and reinstitute his former policies - DAY ONE. Republicans should also pass comprehensive immigration reform that includes beefing up E-Verify, making it simply and mandatory, and quickly punishing any employer that is seen flagrantly flaunting immigration laws by knowingly hiring illegals. He doesn't have to prosecute them all, just make examples of a few. When the risk of hiring an illegal becomes far greater than any expected reward, the primary incentive to come here will be gone. We also need to make it clear that only citizens are entitled to public benefits. Not that anyone should spend their life sucking on the government teat, but it's even worse when they're non-citizens doing it. Tighten these laws and prosecute them vigorously, and the next sound you hear will be illegals fleeing back across the border - and self-deportations are always cheaper for the taxpayer than actual deportations.

Agreed. The country handed Trump a mandate and he better follow through with it.

Agreed. The country handed Trump a mandate and he better follow through with it. One one thing that MUST be done in 2025 is to renew the 2017 tax cuts. With GOP control of both houses we can get it done, but it's not going to be a layup.
