Microwaves make food soggy and I don't want to heat up my oven for a couple of egg rolls. I'll actually put them in the microwave for about 30 seconds and then put them in the air fryer for about 3 minutes to get them crisp. But, yes, the "air fryer" is just a small windy oven.

We use our Ninja Foodi XL Smart Grill a few times each week. I love using it. Typically, we do pork chops, oven-roaster potatoes, chicken breast, and my wife has made a vegetable medley that is really good. Whatever you might call it, I really enjoy using my smart grill.

I do that with leftover pizza, too. You get the crispness like it’s fresh out of the oven, but the microwave heat keeps the innermost part warmer without scorching the outside. Like you, I had noticed if I relied solely on the microwave, the food had a sogginess to it. However, if I relied solely on the air fry, I’d either “toast” it (if not frozen) , or leave cold spots. Worse, the inside would cool down more quickly than anticipated. So, you’d have this weird hot to the touch meets refrigerator quality combination. All the appetizer-type foods like T-Raves, fries, crab Rangoon, egg/spring rolls, chicken nugs/tenders are perfect

I've got a toaster oven with a convection setting. I just use that.
