For all of his faults, his steadfast refusal to hold hearings and confirmation votes on Garland in the face of all that pressure was a big reason Trump won in 16.

He's done a few good things but he's complete swamp monster. His holding the SC justice seat hostage was a good move but it wasn't done to benefit Trump, it happened to benefit Trump.

It looks like the RINOs coup to keep control of Senate is going to happen. Thune is in the early lead with John Wayne Cornyn second in their secret meeting -- before the new Senators join.

I just heard Sen. Kennedy from Louisiana speak about this. He said that any speculation right now is typical and useless. He said that there will be time for the Republicans in the Senate to meet and they will hash this out. He said that most Senators are not committed at this time.

I know if I was an incoming Senator I'd be angry. It would be nice to see Mitch gone when it comes to the December continuing resolution - remember two years ago, Mitch and McCarthy forced through a 10 month deal that locked in the Pelosi budget just weeks before the Republicans took control of the House.

I think he is registered to run for another term...... He's 82 and he's about as cognizant as Biden. His term is up 2026 and I can't imagine he'd run again if he even finishes out his term.

When one considers his medical problems, and his freezing up like he was in a trance or having a stroke, I doubt he will run for another 6-year term in 2026.

I said it before and I'll say it again - they should hold off on this vote until all NEW Senators get to Washington!

I said it before and I'll say it again - they should hold off on this vote until all NEW Senators get to Washington! technically, the new senators are in DC. They are there for orientation and what not. Not sure if they get to vote in this closed door secret power grab or not. And if not, why not? And I dont know how the vote works, it is whomever of the 3 gets the most votes, or is it 1st over 50% of the conference?

IF there is no candidate of the three that receives 27 votes on first ballot, the candidate with the fewest votes is dropped from the race and then there is a runoff vote for the two remaining contenders. The newly elected Senators cannot vote because they have not yet been sworn in. They are Senators elect not Senators yet.

Last I read, he wasn't going to allow him because PA was still pulling ballots out of thin air and counting them
