technically, the new senators are in DC. They are there for orientation and what not. Not sure if they get to vote in this closed door secret power grab or not. And if not, why not? And I dont know how the vote works, it is whomever of the 3 gets the most votes, or is it 1st over 50% of the conference? IF there is no candidate of the three that receives 27 votes on first ballot, the candidate with the fewest votes is dropped from the race and then there is a runoff vote for the two remaining contenders. The newly elected Senators cannot vote because they have not yet been sworn in. They are Senators elect not Senators yet. then why 27 and not 25? 27 is a majority of 53, the number of seats they will hold in Jan where 25 is a majority of the seats currently held. just makes the whole swampy shit more swampy

I am just repeating how I heard it explained this morning. A Constitutional scholar I am not. 🙂

Mitch and Paul RINO Ryan subverted the Trump agenda in his first term, and the Turtle is trying to do it again.

Did Schumer allow the new Senator from PA to come to orientation? Last I read, he wasn't going to allow him because PA was still pulling ballots out of thin air and counting them Yes. Schumer invited him this morning. I think he saw the writing on the wall. He probably invited him after a couple of Republican Senators said that they would escort the new Senator if Schumer didn't get off his high horse and invite the man!
