Disney really pumped out some stinkers during the Biden Administration. His push to have a black woman Vice President was controversial in many ways, and Disney seemed to imitate the same practice of elevating minority and LGBTQ+ creators to loftier appointments without much reason to believe it was earned.
Not only was Disney evoking activism, they were downright invoking it. The most glaring example was their fight w/DeSantis and Florida over the ‘Parental Rights in Education’ bill. That bill, emphasisly re-badged as ‘Don’t Say Gay Bil,’ was meant to restrict discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in public schools, specifically targeting young children in grades kindergarten through the third.
That ended in a political disaster for Disney.
Also, the public witnessed big-time Intellectual Properties controlled by Disney, completely erode during this time. The story telling direction Disney took the most recognizable entertainment properties at the time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe & Star Wars took a noticeable downturn in both quality and public support.
Even their iconic brands like Snow White, Mulan, and Little Mermaid weren’t immune. Disney became the most public DEI darling and the perils of going full-woke. Even if people weren’t politically savvy, they likely made a correlation of Disney’s message and public rebuke to that of the current administration.
Disney was in the news and for all the wrong reasons. The entertainment industry as a whole was struggling at the cinema; which became a reflection of woke activism from Hollywood. So, what did the Democratic Party do? Obviously, double-down on A-List celebrities.
From portraying George Clooney like a hot-shot political strategist to rolling out the Red Carpet to celebrities at the DNC, the Democratic Party leveraged Hollywood hard all the way to the bitter end. It might be one of the most glaring examples of being completely blind to what is going on in America and a driving force behind undecided voters gravitating away from Kamala.
