I am simultaneously amused and annoyed by all the decision desks calling races. Not that the cannot, or should not, do so. They should. But it's the bluster behind the proclamations that imply importance. The decision as who wins an election resides solely within the offices of the individual state Secretary of State. We still live in a federalist system, with no federal elections. Elections are run by states according their own election laws, that exist within the framework of a general federal election law (which has gone too far, but that's another topic for another time).

So Donald Trump doesn't actually become the President Elect until Congress certifies the Electoral College vote. Are we supposed to pretend like he didn't win the election until then?

Interesting CNN and MSNBC have called the House for GOP with Republicans gaining 218 seats. Fox News has not yet and said they only have 217.
