I've been trying to come up with a rational reason for why the Biden Administration chose to provoke this escalation now. ("Rational" does not mean good, btw. It simply means there is a reason for what they are doing).
The only idea I can come up with is that Biden and his Obama-camp handlers have decided out of pure ideological spite to sabotage the foreign policy of the incoming Trump Administration. Seeing Trump fail, even at the cost of over 100,000 lives, is the only outcome I can see from this. And, yes, this does cement the idea, in my not so humble opinion, that the senior levels of power within the Democratic Party are purely evil.

No, Biden is not escalating the war as part of some weird conspiracy to undermine Trump.
No, Biden is not trying to start WW3.
Yes, Biden is simply continuing his 50 year history of incompetence concerning foreign affairs and wild inconsistencies.
He has had 4 years to help find a resolution to the Russian invasion for which he gave Putin his personal permission.
However, since he is the one who invited Putin to invade, obviously the Russian dictator has zero reason to believe Biden is serious now about bringing it to a conclusion.
And Putin is right to recognize Biden's weakness and vapidity.
Why did Biden give Ukraine "permission" to launch US made missiles deeper into Russia?
One last, silly attempt to look strong and forceful.
Putin isn't buying.
