Not sure if there's been a thread about this station already, so sorry if this is a repeat. I've been listening to it now for 5 -6 years and overall, it really fills a void in the St.L rock music station situation. I grew up on KSHE but can hardly stand to listen to it now, it's just flat awful. IMO, K-WULKF has a great format that plays some of the old stuff, but more importantly plays great selections by artists that never had huge commercial exposure on the radio, and for that reason many of us never heard their songs before.
As with all things, the station isn't perfect and seems to be adding a few features that don't help, like JC in the morning and the Wulf Pack show in the afternoon. The main reason people listen to this show would seem to be for the music with very few commercial interruptions, so why add talk at either end of the day? I hope that they reconsider this talk business (especially JC, I can't stand to hear a single word come out of him , but that's a topic for a different thread).
What do others think of the station? I know that new rock music on the radio is basically dead, but for me this station kind of bridges the gap. I'll be interested to see how long they can resist going too far mainstream and mucking up a good thing.

I don’t live in StL but remember listening to KSHE when I was a teenager visiting family at Christmas and summers in the 70’s and 80’s. I enjoyed it then. I completely believe your opinion but am curious just what happened to it. Thank you.

My go-to at this point is 93.1, KBUDZ. Don't know if Randy Raley is the music director, but his show in the mornings is great. From 4:3-=5:30 (or longer) is an hour of commercial free stuff. I'll have to give K-Wolf a try as well.

KSHE has become a commercialized oldies station with a playlist of about 27 songs that they repeat over and over again. Most of it is 35-40 years old or more and is just AC/DC, Rush, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, etc. and a few hair bands. These are all great bands, with great songs, but a whole lot of other rock music has been made in this time frame and it would be nice to hear something different for a change. They are truly stuck in the 70's and 80's for the most part. What's ironic is KSHE at one time was THE station in St.L to hear what was new and just being released. To think that they are now just an oldies station with a very limited playlist is hard to fathom.

I live in the Dayton, OH area, and our classic rock station, WTUE is very much the same, although they dip into some of the 90’s bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, RHCP, etc.. It is an extraordinarily limited playlist. They are also a IHeartRadio property, and their constant ads for the mother company, which in no way fit the demographic of the station, make them practically unlistenable.

I listent to 96.3 WFUN often. They play a wide variety of classic era rock, song you typically don't hear often.

Just turned on the Wulf in the car and heard the sexiest voice in radio, Katy Kruze, on the air.
