Former Kansas House Speaker Ron Ryckman Jr., an Olathe Republican, is quietly working with unnamed parties interested in bringing the Kansas City Chiefs across the border, The Star has learned. Jackson County voters’ rejection of a stadiums sales tax opens a new opportunity for Kansas to attempt to lure one or both teams. Ryckman and his mystery stakeholders are betting the time is right. “Jackson County fumbled. Now there will be a mad scramble for the ball and we’re in the best position for a scoop and score,” Ryckman said in a text message to The Star. Cities and taxpayers need to just say no.

It’s business……a more favorable, and profitable, situation for the owners is not stupid…
The New York Giants, and New York Jets play in New Jersey..

Fucking Johnson County residents leach off of the public works projects Missouri residents pay for. If Johnson County, KS authorizes giving welfare to billionaires, how do Kansas residents "leach off of the public works projects Missouri residents pay for?" If anything, it would seem that Kansas taxpayers would be on the hook for paying off the bonds, not MO residents. Of course, the better solution is to telling the Billionaires owning the Chiefs and Royals to fund their own stadiums...

I lived on the Missouri side and paid Kansas City taxes for roads, bridges, museums, parks, monuments, memorials, zoo, all the public works that makes Kansas City a real city. The Johnson County residents paid for none of it and got to benefit from all of it. It was one of the richest counties in the country. They seem to have gotten stupid now. Perhaps their much lauded and well-funded school system isn’t so great after all.

Johnson County’s slogan should be “ people were raised here.” It was only a matter of time before KC, KS leveraged KC, MO assets to grow and thus usurp them. It’ll be a mistake. They’d be better off continuing to leverage it, versus paying a premium by driving up the cost for themselves to bid on. Then again, maybe that is their intention… drive up the cost of the NFL & MLB teams so the retention of those “assets” requires the sacrifice of others for minimal costs. Most people have no idea Kansas City, MO is a thing.

The Kansas City Chiefs went all in and failed "pretty badly" as an April vote for a renovated Arrowhead Stadium fell flat according to Adam Teicher of ESPN. Now, the Chiefs are continuing discussions with officials from both Kansas and Missouri to figure out the team's future location after their lease at Arrowhead expires following the 2030 season. Team president Mark Donovan said they're looking at the failed vote as an opportunity to consider what makes the most sense for fans and the future of the franchise.

www.theredzone.org/Blog-Description/EntryId/36721/Chiefs-on-finding-new-home---This-is-a-generational-decision-I'm glad that welfare for billionaires was voted down. However, the NFL has a fall back plans available -- they can move the Chiefs to San Diego, who lost its team to Los Angeles, or to Oakland, a city that not only lost its team but also shares high crime rates like KC does. Then again, the billionaires can pay for their own stadium renovations and construction.
