I watched the first episode of this last night, and it looks interesting. Basically, the premise is that the universe, or God maybe, it communicating with us in some way? Not overly clear yet.
But one thing that surprised me is that Ep. 1 contained a critical take on Communist China. Which we all know is taboo in many media productions these days. Worth checking out.

I thought it was a strange book. First the Chinese author uses Chinese first names (of course) that I found hard to keep track of (Tan, Ran, Jang, Wang, etc). Yes, the author comes down hard on The Cultural Revolution as several characters are intellectuals who were persecuted, often by teenaged Maoists. A very strange interplay between reality and computer game. Still thought provoking.

I finished this series in two days, and that’s really unusual for me. Normally I’m a one ep a day guy, usually don’t have that much time to watch. Excellent show!

Oh, sorry - I meant this as a general comment about the board, not the producer story. I read about that and it’s better than a lot of movie plots. Regarding my spoiler comment, I was going to comment on aspects of the show but didn’t want to spoil anything for anyone else. But I don’t see a way to tag spoilers. |
