Stop being a Democratic dick! He's a military vet with 2 bronze stars and years of experience Nice, classy woman, why are you always triggered so easily. Great I salute his service, but running the largest bureaucracy in the country he should have more leadership experience, he was a Major an O-4. A qualified candidate would have been a general or admiral or higher up in defense department or a Senator for a number of years. I have a close relative who is an O-6 and given his leadership roles is more qualified than this guy. Out of curiosity, didn't the Democrats run a guy for VP who lied about firing weapons of war in war? What made him qualified? Wasn't the same guy actually fired as a volunteer high school football coach for getting a DUI? Didn't this guy post about coaching a state championship team? How did he do that when he was not on the staff when that happened? Well, you see the point? We have had a lot of people in numberous positions of government who aren't qualified. Hegseth has served, been awarded two Bronze Stars, has fought in war and is well known to veterans for his charity work. As Sec. of Defense, he will do just fine. BTW, he also served in the CIA. He is more qualified than some who have held the position. Sorry for rambling.

That may be true IF the mission was to continue the status quo decline of miltary readiness and enrich the MIC The mission has changed. No one reliant on the system has the ability or deisre to change it. And how does being a senator for any number of years make 1 qualified to lead the DoD?

Trump clown show stating. Jumping in the clown car are: Some crazy Fox News commentator for Secretary of Defense. Russia’s favorite politician Tulsi Gabbard for Director of Intelligence And now the biggest clown in Washington Matt Gaetz who even most Republicans hate. My son-in-law texting me that one, and I thought it was a joke. No doubt. He should appoint a man who thinks he is a woman and a dominatrix who steals luggage from airports.

Somewhat incorrect. I believe that bitch Nancy Piglosi instructed the TSA to put her on that list, but the result is correct It happened. So I guess, as usual, Pelosi - one of the most worthless politicians on the hill - doesn't have the balls to stand up and do something herself - she's gotta get others to do it so she can't take the blame but she'll damn sure take the credit. Guess TSA will find out that perhaps you shouldn't listen to whiny-ass politicians who always have an axe to grind

You are allowed your opinion - good thing no one else has to agree with it!

Both Elon and Vivek will be heading up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It's interesting that he has both of them focusing on DOGE, but Elon still has a lot of other things to do with his "real job" of running SpaceX, Tesla, X, Neuralink, xAI, and The Boring Company. Elon also said he's keeping his PAC active, too. There is something ironic about two people running the department of efficiency

Trump is just fucking with everyone on that nomination. Matt Gaetz for AG, is equivalent to John "Bluto" Blutarsky. The only difference John is more likeable. Gaetz has spent years investigating DoJ corruption, and has been a target of such corruption. Bet some information he's learned in his investigations will result in some uncomfortable times for those who improperly waged lawfare. Trump can terminate Department of Justice prosecutors upon entering office. This move would not be unprecedented, as it was a common practice for new administrations to replace U.S. attorneys to align with their policies and priorities.

The rot in Justice is MUCH deeper than the US Attorney's; it's the civil service bureaucrats behind the scenes that are equally rotten and in need of removal.

A qualified candidate would have been a general or admiral or higher up in defense department or a Senator for a number of years. I have a close relative who is an O-6 and given his leadership roles is more qualified than this guy. The Pentagon has been run by former (retired) military Brass and people with ties to the defense contractors for years. The Pentagon just failed, for the sixth time in a row, to perform an annual audit of $3.8 trillion in military assets. We have massive military programs that are complete failures (the Littoral Combat Ship), the F-35 is not only over budget but is still delayed in software and mechanical updates, the Sentinel ICBM (replacement for Minuteman III) is billions over budget, and our recruiting is down because of the woke BS. With the sole exception of liberating Kuwait and Grenada, the USA hasn't won a war since WW-2. Based on that record, it seems that what we've been doing at the Pentagon for years has been a failure. As far as Pete Hegseth, I'm willing to defer to the President and let him lead. Remember, the bureaucracy at the Pentagon is massive. He'll have separate heads of each branch of service plus assistant Secretary of Defense, not to mention that we have has many Flag Officers (3&4 star Generals and Admiral equivalent) now as we did at the end of WW2. President Eisenhower was correct in warning us about the military-industrial complex. Edit: Here's the path our military is on under Progressives: current-affairs.boards.net/thread/2848/socialist-ruin

Sure there are; who are they? Sure, he's a hand grenade, so what? Its what is needed at Justice; we cant simply change management and let the corruption stay. and you heard Pres Trump yelling alot about recess apointments; this is why. a recess appointment is only good until the next congress, 2 years. I wonder how willing the Senate will be to agree to recess appointments, given the nature of a couple of these nominees. But if it gives them a pass, through to the midterms, maybe he can pull it off. If Trump is successful and Gaetz does end up cleaning the snakepit that is the DOJ of the reptiles that inhabit it, I will be happy to be wrong. We shall see. If I were Trump, I would attempt to seek recess appointments, then force the Senate to confirm his nominees. Pete Hegseth should be a confirm, recent election Harris/WALZ received 72,875,230 votes, putting WALZ a heartbeat from the Commander-in-Chief position. Hegseth is more qualified than WALZ. Gaetz will get a chance to speak for himself, he has an uphill battle.

The Deep State is trying to obstruct the Trump administration by "burrowing in" to career jobs. Their goal is to stop Presidential policies, hiding under the auspices of Federal Lifetime employment guarantees. This is what Obama did at the end of his regime, and why Trump had to sign Schedule F. Now, not only will he re-sign that Schedule F on Day 1 (Biden cancelled it on day 1 of his illegitimate regime), but is going to purge many of the Marxist/Socialist warmongers in the Deep State. Apparently, many of them are contractors, so they can be axed simply by cancelling contracts and terminating security clearances.

Don't confuse this as a benefit for Americans. 2) Pelosi have the "balls" more so than lot of the republicans, definitely more than Mitt Romney.

I believe I mentioned here but if I didn't, I have four "contractors" in my neighborhood who never leave home to go to work. NEVER leave home to go to work. One typically has gotten home after 1:00 where he takes his golf clubs out of his car and waves to me when I am out. One sits out on his back deck all day. They are not doing work in normal work hours.
